These are just a few very random
selections of all the many cowboy and cowgirl sites
out on the cyber-range:
IWMA - The Western
Music Association - dedicated to preserving
and advancing the history, literature, and performance of
Western Music. Anyone with an interest in cowboy music
should be a member of this great non-profit organization.
Quarterly magazine chock full of information and tour
schedules, and a terrific festival every November at Old
Tucson Studios in Tucson AZ. Regional chapters have been
formed in several states.
Cowboy Poetry at
the Bar-D Ranch - Cowboy poetry and the best
calendar of national cowboy events out there.
Gene Autry -
the official Gene Autry website.
Roy Rogers -
the official Roy Rogers website.
Bob
Nolan/Sons of the Pioneers - LOTS of
excellent historic and musical information about one of
the foundingmembers of the Sons of the Pioneers.
National
Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame - Fort Worth,
Texas.
Wild West Days
- Wisconsin's best Western event, with western music,
reenactments, vendors and an old west town. Always the
third weekend of August.
Midwest
Horse Fair - Annual event held in Madison
Wisconsin. Everything about horses including seminars,
shows, vendors and entertainment. Not a "Horse Show" -
but a "Horse Fair"!
Cowboy
Mounted Shooting Association, combines
action pistol shooting, barrel racing and Old West
reenactment. "The most fun you can have with a horse and
a gun!"
